This paper deals with the analysis of unsprung masses of electric vehicles with the in-wheel drive, from a dynamics point of view. The system safety and comfort are evaluated. This paper also brings together the modern possibilities of use of the propulsive components of the in-wheel drive - the basic types of electronic commutated motors. The technical note presents the ROMO vehicle - a project of DLR (German Aerospace Center).
