It presents and analyzes some solutions that have been implemented in Europe and focuses on a similar project which is currently being prepared in the Czech Republic at the dynamically growing international airport in Prague. For the final decision making process concerning the possibilities of a rail connection between Prague city and its airport a comprehensive comparative study, including risk analysis, was processed by the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences.
