These include: integration, processes, tools, affordability, repeatability, sustainability, integrity, etc. Prior to the discussion of the recommended functional requirements a brief description is given on the two types of integration environments (Monolithic Environments and Best Class Environments) along with a categorization of the different type of tools considered to be integrated within the environment. The four categories of tools addressed are Groupware, Project Management, Product Data Management or Product Lifecycle, and Engineering tools. ER
